Cox and Maury Advance at Oakton

The Cox Falcons (21-0) defeated James River in the state quarterfinals at Oakton High School yesterday. Kaitlyn Hiltz continued her 21 consecutive games of scoring with two goals, putting her at 48 for the season and Taylor Harrell and Kelsey Rosenmeier each scored to finish it off, putting the Falcons up 5-1. They advance to the semi finals today where they will face Stafford. The Indians defeated Cox last year to end their bid for another state title, but they are determnined not to let that happen again. The Falcons have won 13 state titles since the tournament began.

Maury also advances to the semi-finals today after a victory over unbeaten Thomas Dale 3-0. Sarah DiPeppe, Rachel Robinson and Rachel White all scored for the Commodores. Maury takes on Mountain View today at 5PM.
