Clarke County Boys and Girls State Champs!
The 2006 Virginia Cross Country State Championships were held on Saturday at Great Meadows, VA. The Winchester Area Gameday Magazine runners performed great with numerous athletes receiving All-State honors.
In the single A division the Clarke County Boy's and Girl's Cross Country team won State titles in 2006. The Boys team was lead by Simon Biddle-Snead who placed 2nd with a time of 16:53. The eagles had four other teammates who finished in the top 10. The Boys team dominated the field with there top six scorers beating the next closest team by 59 points.
In the single A division the Clarke County Girl's team also was crowned State Champions. The girls were lead by Sophia Holmes 2nd place finish with a time of 19:37. Erin Broy of the Lady Eagles team also was a top 10 finisher with her 6th place finish. The Girl's team top six scorers were 36 points ahead of the second place team!

Girls AA
Sullivan Parkes of Millbrook placed 5th with a time of 19:38
The Girl's team from Handley High School placed 4th in the team standings
Boys AA
Josh Wilson of James Wood was the top local finisher with a time of 17:12
The Sherando Boy's team placed 5th
