Chantilly Wins Region Cheer Title Saturday Night
Fairfax, VA - Although it took a two-point differential in a tiebreaker, the Chantilly cheerleading squad was able to edge out Stone Bridge and pull out the Northern Region championship Saturday night.
West Springfield and Fairfax will join the Chargers and Bulldogs as the region's representatives in the state championships on Saturday in Richmond. Robinson, McLean, Langley, and Lake Braddock -- last year's state runner-up - also performed at the region finals, but failed to advance. Chantilly won with 437 points, narrowly eclipsing Stone Bridge's 435.
Officials in Richmond are advising those planning to attend Saturday's competition to allow for traffic and parking as the Richmond Marathon will also be held during the day.
