The Martinsburg Invitational Volleyball Tournament comes to town on Saturday October 13th at Martinsburg High School. Fifteen of the best teams from the State of West Virginia will compete for the title of Invitational Champion. The tournaments action begins at 9 am with three games being played simultaneously throughout the day and into the night. The teams will be seperated into three pools of five teams. Each team will play two matches in their respective pool play. The top two teams from each pool will then compete in a tournament with one team being crowned champion.
This years tournament features some very talented players and highly ranked teams. Three teams enter the tourney being ranked in the top four of the West Virginia AAA Girls Volleyball rankings. Musselman is currently ranked #1 in the state and has proven that they are for real. Parkersburg and Hedgesville are the number 3 and 4 ranked teams in the state and will definitely be in consideration for the tournament championship.
