Keyser and Berkeley Springs set to collide

Keyser Golden Tornado at Berkeley Springs Indians
Friday 7:00 pm
Berkeley Springs High School

Match up

Keyser travels to Berkeley Springs on Friday to play in a football game that has major playoff implications. Both Keyser and Berkeley Springs are Class AA Schools. The West Virginia Football State Playoff System takes the top sixteen teams in each classification and matches them up in a tournament format. Going into Friday's game Keyser is ranked 10th and Berkeley Springs is ranked 16th. A win for either program should solidify a spot in the AA State Playoffs. This game has all the makings of being a great high school football game.

Keys to the Game

Berkeley Springs
1.Gain an advantage with home town crowd
2. Keep Keyser's defense off balance with play calling
3. Run Cody's Run (BSHS backfield is averaging 200 plus yards a game)

Keyser
1. Must establish passing game to keep 8 defenders out of the box.
2. Must eliminate Berkeley Springs big plays on offense.
3. Win the takeaway game with fumbles/interceptions.

Players to Watch

Keyser's Taige Redman is a man amongst boys from his defensive line position. The talented sophomore uses his strength and unbelievable quickness to consistently make plays in the opposing team's backfield. Expect #24 to get to know the Indians quarterback Friday night.

Berkeley Springs running backs Cody Hess and Cody Reed. The talented juniors are averaging 200 plus yards a game and 3 touchdowns. Both players run with tremendous power and can score from anywhere on the field. Expect the "Cody Show" to play a major role in Friday's game.

Outlook

Both Berkeley Springs and Keyser have the talent and coaching staff to win this ball game. The defense that settles in and can make the opposing team sustain long drives on offense should win this ball game. Both schools have big time playmakers that will be key for their team's success. Expect this game to be won by the role players for there respective teams.
