McCoy, Burkhard Ignite Pride In 16-0 Victory
The Heritage Pride needed to get on track with a big win, and they got it on Friday night against Briar Woods. The Pride played excellent defense and shutout a Falcon team that had been averaging over 20 points per game, 16-0. Heritage's Sean McCoy got the scoring started in the 1st half with a 62 yard touchdown catch and run to put the Pride up 7-0. Heritage added a field goal and then broke the game open in the 2nd half when linebacker Zak Burkhard intercepted Falcon quarterback Alex Munro and returned it 14 yards for a touchdown.
The Pride would go on to notch the victory and improve their record to 3-2 on the season. Briar Woods fell to 4-2 with the loss. The Falcons host Potomac next week and Heritage will travel to Sterling Park to face Park View in their first Dulles District game of the season.
