Hedgesville Stuns Bulldogs in Sectionals
The Hedgesville Eagle Soccer team took down the Martinsburg Bulldogs in the first round of sectional play. The Eagle team used a very aggressive offensive aproach to defeat the Bulldogs 2-1. Hedgesville came into the game ranked third in the area while the Bulldogs were seeded second. In sectional play the higher seeded team gets rewarded by playing on their home field. With the stands filled and the crowd split 50/50 the players on the field were left to decide who moves on. Both teams played extremely hard but tonight the ball bounced in favor of the Eagles. Hedgesville moves on to face Jefferson for the sectional title. Congrats goes out to the Bulldog Soccer team for a great season.
