Dudinski Crushes Record, Patriots Win 42-14

(Sterling, VA) Halloween came a night early for the Potomac Falls Panthers on Monday as the Park View Patriots took advantage of a downright scary performance from tailback Deric Dudinski to beat the Panthers 42-14. Monday's game was one big costume party for Dudinski who showed up looking more like former NFL great Jim Brown rather than a 5'9 high school senior. Dudinski scorched the Panthers for 319 yards on 23 carries and ran for 4 touchdowns in the Patriot's 7th win of the season.

Potomac Falls started the game in a very impressive manner, driving the length of the field in less than 2 minutes, but a blocked field goal would end their 1st drive of the game. Park View took over on their own 2-yard line. As expected, the Patriots gave the first play to Dudinski who took the ball out to the 10-yard line. On the second play, Dudinski once again took the handoff and this time raced 90 yards for the first score of the game. Two carries and 98 yards later, Dudinski had Park View up 7-0.

Potomac Falls would answer with a touchdown to knot the score at 7-7 mid-way through the first quarter. Dudinski would then put the Patriots back on top 14-7 on a 45-yard dash in the second quarter. At the half, Dudinski had 167 yards on 7 carries and 2 touchdowns, but he was far from done.

Whatever Patriot head coach Andy Hill said at halftime worked because his Park View squad came out of the locker room on fire. Dudinski's 2 yard touchdown run in the 3rd quarter gave Park View a 21-7 lead and after stopping the Panthers on defense, Patriot Amechi Anyeaugo scored from 4 yards out to increase the lead to 28-7.

Potomac Falls quickly answered with a 40 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Greg Woodlief to receiver Chad McMichael to cut the lead down to 28-14. It didn't take long for the Patriots to answer again with Dudinski running 54 yards for his 4th touchdown of the night. With the score 35-14, Park View's C.J. Leizear put the game away with a 20 yard touchdown throw to tight end Kenny Smith, and the Patriots closed out an impressive home win 42-14 over their cross town rival.

With the win, Park View (7-1) takes over sole possession of first place in the Dulles District with two games remaining (@ Loudoun County, Broad Run). Potomac Falls drops to 5-3 with the loss and still has an outside chance at the playoffs should Park View falter.
