Bulldogs defeat Applemen in the rain bowl


The Martinsburg Bulldogs continue to improve as the season moves closer to the playoffs. (8-1) Martinsburg defeated (3-7) Musselman 39-3 on senior night for the Bulldogs. Martinsburg took control of the game early and never looked back. The Bulldogs defense played great team football by limiting the Applemen to under 125 total yards for the game and forced 6 turnovers. Cornerback Xavier Peters continues to be a shut down corner. The talented senior had three interceptions on the night. Offensively the Bulldogs had three players total 100 plus yards. Running back Marcuss Scott had 9 carries for 134 yards and 3 TD"s. Quarterback Dustin Peters threw for 165 yards and a TD. Standout RB Josh Twyman carried the ball 15 times for 115 yards and a TD. At the game it was announced that Twyman's performance tonight was the 20th time that the talented senior had rushed for over 100 yards in his career.

The Applemen finish there season with a 3-7 record. The Appleman have many talented players on their team especially the kicker Cory Smith. Smith kicked a 38 yard FG and did not have one kickoff leave the end zone.
