Abugideiri Helps Panthers Rally for 22-14 Win
The Potomac Falls Panthers looked as if they were headed for their 3rd loss of the season until a huge special teams play ignited a great 4th quarter comeback to help them beat Washington & Lee 22-14. Potomac Falls trailed 14-6 at halftime and mid-way through the 3rd quarter until sophomore Chad McMichael blocked a Washington & Lee punt that setup a Mustafa Abugideiri 5 yard touchdown run. After Abugideiri scored, the Panthers went for two and converted with Steve Hancock catching a Greg Woodlief pass in the end-zone.
Potomac Falls would then take the lead on another Abugideiri touchdown run, this one from 10 yards out and convert another two point conversion to seal the victory 22-14.
The Washington & Lee game marks the 3rd straight game that Panther Chad McMichael has made a huge play, and his blocked punt was the catalyst for the Panther's comeback.
With the win, Potomac Falls improves to 3-2 on the season. The Panthers will meet Broad Run in the first Dulles District game of the season for both teams next week.
