Ritt Interception Seals Win over Bayside

QB Matt Ritt made a crucial mistake in the fourth quarter when he fumbled, allowing Bayside to send the game into overtime. He made up for it in the second OT with a game winning interception, playing defensive back.

The game was tied at halftime, but Kellam came back strong to score twice in the second half. On fourth and goal from the one yard line, Coach DeWitt made the decision to let his team go for 7 instead of kicking. The gamble paid off and Coach DeWitt had a victory to celebrate on his birthday.

Bayside's EJ Manuel continued his outstanding play, completing half his passes for almost 300 yards.

Bayside falls to 2-1 and faces Princess Anne (0-4) next week and Kellam (3-1) plays Tallwood (2-1).

Gameday Correspondent Kerri Land reported on this match-up.
