When teams like Loudoun Valley and Park View schedule one another, fans get excited. Excitement will be something everyone will be able to feel in the air on Friday night in Sterling Park, where the Vikings will look to repeat their dominating performance from a year ago, and the Patriots will be shooting for an upset and statewide respect.

After last Friday's opening performance against Loudoun County, it is no longer a secret that Loudoun Valley holds one of the most talented athletes in Northern Virginia in tailback Brian Oden. Oden rushed for 4 touchdowns on just 10 carries and finished with 203 yards in only a couple of quarters of work. Oden's outstanding play has Vikings fans thinking big things this season. A huge key to the Vikings success in this match up will be their offensive line. Four starters return this season to anchor that line. Keep an eye especially on All-Gameday Center Josh Spring on Defense and Offense. Senior linebacker Patrick Conroy is as good and as tough as you will find in the area. Also look for Ryan Sheehan to have a big game in the secondary.

Park View got off to a fast start this season behind the play of tailback Deric Dudinski. Dudinski, a senior, scorched Jefferson County for 211 yards and a score last Friday, and also intercepted a pass and returned it 99 yards for a touchdown in the game. The Patriots won 21-12, but know that this week's game will be a much bigger test. The Patriots also boast the talent of junior quarterback CJ Leizear. Along with Dudinski, he was also named to the All District and All Gameday team after passing for 23 touchdowns last season. The combination of these two talented players in the Patriot's backfield should have Valley's attention.

Key Match-ups

One of the most compelling match-ups in this game will be how the Park View offensive line matches up against the speed of the Vikings defense. If Park View can establish the running game against Valley, this game should be close.

Patriot defensive tackle Corbin Barnes will go head to head against center Josh Spring and guard Patrick Conroy of the Vikings. Whoever wins that battle will most likely help their team dictate the flow of the game.

Keys to Victory

Park View
1. Get Dudinski At Least 20 Carries
2. Contain Viking tailback Brian Oden
3. Don't Give Up The Big Play

Loudoun Valley
1. Keep Dudinski and the Park View Offense Off The Field
2. Force Leizear Into Throwing The Ball To Win
3. Don't Underestimate The Patriots

Extra Point:
Loudoun Valley took it to the Patriots last year in Andy Hill's first season as a head coach for Park View. Expect Hill to have the Patriots better prepared and the game should be much closer.

All Gameday Returning Players

Park View
Corbin Barnes – Sr. DT/OG
C.J. Leizear – Jr – QB
Deric Dudinski – Sr – RB/FS

Loudoun Valley
Josh Spring – C/DT
Patrick Conroy – OG/LB

Our Prediction:
Look for Park View to take this game into the 4th quarter with a lead and pull out the unexpected victory over the Vikings. Park View is big, physical, and with Dudinski in the backfield along with Leizear, they have the more experienced offense. The fact that this game is played at Park View has us leaning toward the Patriots.

Park View – 24
Loudoun Valley – 21
