Panthers Will Try To Keep Leash On Bulldogs
Potomac Falls Panthers vs. Martinsburg Bulldogs (WV)
September 29th, 2006 – 7:00 pm kickoff at Potomac Falls High School in Sterling, Virginia
After making the long trip from Martinsburg to Ashburn to face the Broad Run, a game in which they crushed the Spartans 42 – 14, the Martinsburg Bulldogs will make their way back to Northern Virginia, this time though to Sterling to face the Potomac Falls Panthers. Potomac Falls is 2-1 this year, their only loss coming to Jefferson last week. The story so far for the Bulldogs though has been completely different. They are 3-1, with their only loss to Urbana, a perennial powerhouse from Maryland.
Key Matchups:
Panther quarterback Greg Woodlief will be tested by a physical and quick Bulldog defense all night long. The Panthers will need their first year quarterback to step up big if they are going to win this game. Potomac Falls has only managed 31 points total on the scoreboard this season, and if they are going to beat Martinsburg, they may need to match that total Friday night.
Bulldog running back Josh Twyman will be the best player on the field on Friday night. His 8 touchdowns so far in 2006 is a team high and he is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. Look for Potomac Falls to put 8 and sometimes 9 defensive players in the box to slow down Twyman. If they succeed, the Panthers have a shot.

Martinsburg is the real deal, and even if Potomac Falls plays well, it could find itself behind by more than 2 touchdowns when the fat lady sings. Bulldogs beat up on the upstart Panthers by at least 14 points.
