James Wood's Defense Comes Up Big in Win

James Wood 14 Millbrook 7

The James Wood Colonels moved to 4-0 behind a strong performance by their stellar defense. The game between the Millbrook Pioneers and the James Wood Colonels lived up to hype in front of a standing room only crowd at Jerry Kelican Stadium. James Wood came out in the first half and was in control of the game leading 14-0 at halftime. The Pioneers played inspired football in the second half and put themselves in position to tie the ball game up late in the 4th quarter. With less than a minute to play and the ball resting at the James Wood 9 yard line, Millbrook was in a 4th and 3 situation. Millbrook handed the ball off to thier workhorse JJ Casagranda who was stopped in the backfield by the Colonel defense.

Alot can be learned from Friday nights game. Millbrook is a very talented football team with a warriors mentality. We also learned that the James Wood football team is for real and there defense is a dominating unit.
