Heritage Grabs 5th Place at Invitational on Sat.
The Heritage cross country teams competed in the Chancellor Invitational on a Ernesto rain-soaked Fredericksburg couse on Saturday, September 2nd.
The Varsity girls team finished 5th out of 32 high schools attending the meet. The girls were the top AA finishing team, with Jayde James making the medal stand with a 20th place finish.
The Varsity boys team also finished 5th, supported by a 6th place finish from Nick McLaughlin and a 13th place finish from Jesse Saldana.
The JV boys team finished 3rd and the JV girls absolutely stole the show, setting a Heritage record and a completing a feat that is extremely rare in cross country. 8 out of the top 10 JV girls finishers were Heritage runners and a 16 point team score is the lowest in Heritage invitational history (15 is a perfect score). Hannah McLaughlin won the JV girls race.
Heritage races next at the Frank Keyser Invitational in Boonsboro, MD next Saturday, September 9th.
