Gameday Game Balls Awarded Week #2
On the News Channel 3 Emmy Award Winning show, The Locker Room, which airs every Friday night at 11:10 PM with the most comprehensive highlights of all the games, Michael Morisi, Publisher appeared and awarded this week's Game Balls for outstanding performances:
Kevin Whaley of the Salem Sundevils ran for 237 yards, over 200 in the first half. He proved himself worthy of the Best Running Back in the District title.
The Maury Defense held tough and gave Hickory QB Brian Inghram no time to get set and throw and held them in their last ditch 4th down attempt near the end of the fourth quarter.
Indian River's Coach Cadillac Harris also wins one for his determination to lead his team to an upset victory over the Defending State Champs, Hampton Crabbers. With his team down at the half and plagued with penalties...they returned from the locker room fired up and focused and the victory was theirs.
