Cox Falcons Fall Hard to Ocean Lakes in Opener
The Dolphins dealt Cox a brutal defeat for their season opener Friday, holding them to less than 45 total yards and only 3 first downs. Cox starts out 0-1 and Ocean Lakes heads into next week 2-0.
Roy Banks had 175 yards rushing and a touchdown for Ocean lakes on 24 carries. T.J. Cowart added 101 yards rushing and receiving.
There was what was believed to be a controversial call during the first half when Falcon Zeke Novak was blown down and then continued toward the goal line. Later on The Locker Room program on WTKR-TV3, film shown in slow motion proved the call was correct with Novak's knee touching the ground.
Cox travels to #3 Salem next week to try to improve their record and #7 Ocean Lakes has a bye.
