Preview
The Jefferson Cougars and the Hampshire Trojans will square off in week one in Romney, WV. The Cougars are coming off an impressive season last year (11-1) and are hoping that the momentum can continue in 2006. Jefferson will be led by their play making running back Ryland Newman and their quarterback Jonathan Hash. Hampshire enters this season with a very experienced football team. They return 18 players who have a tremendous amount of game experience. Hampshire is hoping to control the tempo of the game by sustaining long drives on offense. Expect this to be a very physical game.

Keys to the Game
- The Jefferson Cougars possess great team speed. Can the Trojans keep up with the Cougar players in the open field?

- Hampshire will be a game tested team with their experience returning. Will the Cougars young talent be ready for their season opener?

Players to watch
Jefferson's Ryland Newman is a threat to score a touchdown every time he touches the football. Newman will carry the load for the Cougars once again in 2006.

Hampshire senior Jeremy Shackleford will led the Trojans from his quarterback and safety positions. Expect Shackleford to be involved in every play for the Trojans on offense as well as defense.
