More Hampton Roads Commitments

Two first-team All-Tidewater girls volleyball players from Kellam have made college choices: Keira Peoples to Slippery Rock and Maggie Hayden to Shepherd.

Nansemond River's April Hines, a second-team All-Tidewater selection, has committed to play volleyball at Randolph-Macon.

A number of Booker T. Washington athletes have made college choices . Randy Clark, a 6- 7 forward, committed to play basketball at Mercer Community College in New Jersey. Middle distance runner DeMarion Ellis committed to Norfolk State. Brandon Gardner committed to wrestle at Delaware State. Jasmine Whitaker committed to play volleyball at St. Augustine's. Milton Morris, 5-10, 265-pound lineman, committed to play football at Howard. Catcher Victoria James committed to play softball at North Carolina Central.

Three more Lake Taylor football players have made college commitments : 6-foot, 230-pound lineman Justin Marable to Bridgewater; 5-9, 175-pound defensive back Cenika Turner to Virginia State; and 5-10, 165-pound defensive end Theodore Ford to Newport News Apprentice. Ford was a first-team All-Eastern District selection, and Marable and Turner were second-team all-district.

Tallwood's Whitney King has committed to play field hockey at Virginia Wesleyan.

Two Norview football players are set to play at Louisburg (N.C.) junior college: Dominique Sykes, a 5-8, 170-pound running back, and Kristopher Smith, a 5-8, 220-pound lineman.

Portsmouth Christian's Chris Battaglia, a 6-7 forward, has committed to play basketball at Virginia Wesleyan.

Three Ocean Lakes softball players are set to play in college. Outfielders Jackie Jarzynka and Caitlin Prince committed to Virginia Wesleyan, and shortstop Muhranda Coleman committed to Hampton .

Cox swimmers Chad Gangwer, Kurtis Wright and Brandon Keck have committed to Old Dominion.

Two more Bayside girls soccer players are set to play in college: Samantha Tyner at Virginia Wesleyan and Mary Jocelyn at Randolph-Macon.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's Ellen Giermak has committed to play volleyball at Lynchburg College.

Norview's Keenan Ruff has committed to play men's tennis at Norfolk State.

Ocean Lakes' Nick Sauceda has committed to wrestle at St. Andrews College in Laurinburg, N.C.

Maury girls soccer players Erin Jackson and Holly Clark have made college choices , Jackson to Chowan and Clark to Rhode Island.

Two lacrosse players from Maury will continue playing in college: Grayson M'Coy at Randolph-Macon and C.J. Bauman at Hampden-Sydney.
