Liza Woodward Does it Again for Cox
The Eastern Region Player of the Year scored the only goal of the game as Cox defeated Northern champion Centreville 1-0 in Friday's Group AAA state semifinals at Christopher Newport University sending the Falcons to meet Lake Braddock at 1 p.m. today at CNU in the first state final for a Cox girls soccer team.
"All the kids in the north say the Beach kids can't hang with the teams up there," Woodward said. "I guess we proved them wrong." Woodward, who has 29 goas this season has proven she can score against just about any team this season, leaving no doubt as to why she was selected the unanimous Player of the Year in the Beach District.
