Championship Saturday, 3 Teams Look for Titles
Stone Bridge Ace Breighana Harris continued her dominating ways on Friday afternoon throwing a 3-hitter and a shutout to help the Bulldogs advance to the State Championship. The Bulldogs once again did the little things right to win a close ballgame. Harris ended the contest with 8 strikeouts and only 1 walk. The offense for the Stone Bridge hitters was limited to 3 hits but that's all they needed get past Hickory. Stephanie St. Peter's ground ball to the pitcher helped Bulldog Lauren Williams score from third after shortstop Samantha Ingersoll moved her over in the prior at-bat.
Stone Bridge (27-1) will play Hanover Saturday at 12pm for the Group AAA Division 6 State Championship. The Lady Bulldogs are the second Stone Bridge team to compete for a State Title this year. The football team lost a heartbreaker to Hampton in the State Finals in December.
Raiders One Win Away:
The Loudoun County High School Raiders defeated the Courtland Cougars to advance to the Virginia State AA Finals. The highlight of the match was a “yet again” comeback by first seed David Replogle. David won in three sets, all of which were decided in a tie breaker. David Galuski, Paul Marshall and Andrew Cypher won their singles match so the Raiders were up 4-2 after the singles play. All they need was one victory, and first doubles team Galuski/Marshall provided that with a convincing 6-0,6-2 win. The Raiders will play Hidden Valley Saturday at 9 am at Virginia Tech.

Panthers Beat Heritage 2-1 for a 4th time to Advance to Title Game
The Heritage Pride probably would be playing for and possibly winning a state championship on Saturday if they didn't have to play Potomac Falls four times this season. The Panthers pulled out another very close game against the Pride 2-1 in Radford on Friday afternoon. Potomac Falls and Heritage were tied at the half and for the most the second half at 1-1. Diego Salazar's goal for Potomac Falls was the clincher as the Panthers advanced to play the winner of the Blacksburg vs Jefferson Forest game on Friday evening. The game will be played in Radford on Saturday afternoon.
Last year, Potomac Falls lost to Blacksburg in the state semi-finals and revenge has been on their mind from the beginning of this season.
