Reynolds Narrows College Selection

Senior star point guard Scottie Reynolds has narrowed his college selection down to Louisiana State, Illinois, Florida, Villanova, and Oklahoma.

Now that his selection process is down to its final five, Reynolds will have to decide between a few of the most renowned basketball programs in the country, including a final four team and the defending national champion Florida Gators.

Last Friday, John Brady, the head coach of the Louisiana State Tigers, visited Herndon High School to recruit Reynolds. Brady felt that Reynolds was the missing piece to a squad that advanced to the final four only a month ago.

"He's a quality young man, and a quality player," said Brady, "I've always thought recruiting was about timing and need. The rest of our team is pretty much in place, but certainly we need a point guard, and somebody to run our team and make baskets when necessary. He's one of the best in the country, and that's why we are here."

Reynolds visited LSU last weekend. On Wednesday, he confirmed that he had thinned his options down to “LSU, Illinois, Florida, Villanova, and OU (Oklahoma).”

Reynolds opted out of his nation letter-of-intent to Oklahoma after their coach, Calvin Sampson, left for Indiana in March. He commented how close he is to deciding his collegiate destination. "I don't have any more interest in any of the colleges over the other ones yet."
