Park View Softball ends season on a high note
Park View Softball closed out their regular season with an impressive 13-0 win against Dominion High School. The Patriots pounded out 17 hits including 9 extra base hits as they prepare for the upcoming Dulles District Tournament beginning Friday.
Offensively, Senior Sarah Orrison hit her second home run in as many games when she connected on a two run shot to right center in the second inning. She also tripled in the 5th to drive in her third run of the game. Sarah finished the regular season batting .513 with a .842 slugging percentage. Of her 39 hits, 19 were for extra bases. Junior Amber Dudek had a productive night at the plate as she went 4 for 5 with 3 doubles. This boosted her batting average to .345 going into the District Tournament. Sophomore Emily Garcia collected two doubles among her three hits and scored 3 runs. Senior Brittany Gardner had three hits including 2 doubles to edge her batting average closer to .500.
Brittany Gardner threw a 3 hitter striking out 9 Titan hitters. This brings her record to 18-2 with 283 strikeouts in 131 innings pitched. She compiled a 0.43 ERA over the course of the regular season and is striving to win nine more games this season.
Park View hosts Freedom High School in the first round of the Dulles District tournament on Friday at 7.
