Beach District Regional Quarterfinals in Tennis

Top seeded Landstown Eagles defeated Kempsville 4-1 in Boys Soccer. The Eagles scored three first-half goals to advance to today’s semifinal against Cox. Ryan Gillespie scored and had two assists.

It was Salem over First Colonial 5-2 as the Sun Devils scored five unanswered goals after falling behind 1-0. Jimmy Maddox scored twice and assisted on another goal for third-seeded Salem, which will play Kellam in the semifinals.

Kellam 1, Princess Anne 0. Kyle Ganther broke the scoreless deadlock with 12 minutes left off an assist from Matt Hampton.

The top-seeded Falcons Girls had scoring by four players to defeat Landstown 4-0. They advance to a 5:15 p.m. semifinal today.

Meghan Sayre scored in the first two minutes and Hedi Beemer logged her ninth shutout for the No. 2 ranked Dolphins, who host Kellam in a 5:15 semifinal Wednesday. Ocean Lakes defeated Bayside 1-0.
