Reynolds Asks Oklahoma For Release
Herndon senior point guard Scottie Reynolds asked the Oklahoma University to release him from his national letter-of-intent yesterday. The McDonalds all-American did not rule out the possibility of attending Oklahoma, but wants keep open his recruiting options.
Said Reynolds, "OU is still on my list...hopefully everything will work out."
Nearly a month ago, the man who recruited Reynolds, former Oklahoma coach Calvin Sampson, left the Sooners to sign on as coach of the Indiana Hoosiers. The new Oklahoma coach, Jeff Capel, is expected to meet with Reynolds and his family today.
"Coach Capel is a good guy, and he's passionate about the game," said Reynolds, "I'm not a hundred percent sure I want to be there, and he doesn't want a guy who doesn't want to be there. I feel I would be doing him a disservice by going there without exploring other options."
