Cavaliers Kim Rodgers Named to First Team
Princess Anne's Kim Rodgers, a 5-foot-9 junior guard who has committed to Maryland, has been named to the Group AAA all-state first-team by the Virginia High School Coaches Association. Rodgers, who was was profiled by Gameday Magazine this season for her outstanding play was the Cavaliers' leading scorer at 16.5 points per game and she averaged 4.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists. She is also the All-Tidewater Player of the Year, was named Beach District Player of the Year as well as a Parade All-American.
Teammate Britné Rodgers , not related to Kim, was named to the second team. Britné, a 5-9 junior forward, averaged 12.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.
The Cavaliers won Beach District and Eastern Region titles and finished 29-2. They lost in the state semifinals to Thomas Edison.
