Hickory Hawks (8) Win over Mills Godwin (1)
The eighth-ranked Hawks (6-5) knocked off Mills Godwin, ranked No. 1 by the Richmond Times-Dispatch and No. 38 in the nation by Baseball America. Hickory prevailed in a 7-6 victory over the previously unbeated Richmond team. Tim Black tied the game with an RBI double and Brian Inghram drove in the winning run with one out in the bottom of the sixth.
In other games, Lake Braddock topped Princess Anne 12-6 in a surprise victory over the top-ranked Cavaliers. Jake McAloose smacked two home runs, in the losing effort . Tyler Mann also homered, his third for the year. They combined to drive in five runs. Princess Anne has dropped 3 of 4 games in the tournament.
