Hampton Roads Athletes Make Commitments
Several local high schools reported their athlete's commitments this week. Among them, Great Bridge Track athlete Austin Lester, who is headed to VMI and fellow Wildcat Jon Lockhart, one of the Eastern Region's top discus throwers is going to Bucknell.
Tallwood reported that Carl Landers, a 6'1", 210 pound Linebacker and Running Back has commited to Cornell and Darrell Forbes, a fullback and linebacker is headed to Bridgewater.
Green Run basketball star B.J. Jenkins will be continuing his career at Liberty. He is a three time All-Tidewater second team selection and lead the beach district in scoring, averaging 21 points per game.
First Colonial pitcher/shortstop Frank Berry will continue to play baseball at Longwood. Berry was profiled in Gameday Magazine this season as the quarterback of the football team.
From Hickory High School, Center Matt Savage, a two time All-Tidewater selection will play football for Salisbury.
