Lombardozzi Leads Herndon over Enfield 3-0
Despite managing only three hits, Herndon pulled off a much needed 3-0 victory over Enfield High School. On Monday, Herndon survived the heat, and a lack of hitting, to produce enough runs to take advantage of a masterful pitching performance by senior Daniel Lombardozzi.
Lombardozzi made the team from Connecticut look silly, striking out 15 batters in a complete game 1-hitter. Seniors Tyler Martin and Eli McKinney each added an RBI.
This game was an especially important one for Herndon, as they had lost three of their previous four games. Said senior Will Mancini, "We were having trouble manufacturing runs the last few games, but against Enfield, we were able to move the runners more successfully."
