Beach teams Big Winners at Beach Blast
The Salem Sun Devils (6-5) upset 10th-ranked Maury 8-5 allowing them to finish with a 3-1 record in the tournament. Dan Brion and Derrick Hollins combined for four hits - including a home run apiece - four RBIs and three runs scored.
The Cox Falcons were victorious over Hanover 7-6. Greg Amorosso, Nick Rubes and Drew Wilkinson combined for seven hits, five runs scored and three driven in for the 7th ranked Falcons (8-2-1).
Kempsville topped East Syracuse-Minoa (N.Y.) 9-3. Stephen Murphy went 4 for 4 with four runs batted in to lead the ninth-ranked Chiefs, who finished 3-1 in the tournament.
