McKinney, Chevalier Lead Hornets over Patriots

Herndon continues to commence their season on the right foot, as they prevailed over Park View, 6-1. The victory brings Herndon’s record to 2-0. The game stayed close until the fifth inning when senior Daniel Chevalier broke it open with a two-run homer that put the Hornets up 5-1. Senior Justin Castle knocked in the final run later in the inning. Eli McKinney and Michael Hitti combined to hold the Patriots to one hit, with McKinney receiving the win.

McKinney pitched five innings and struck out three, and also contributed on the offensive side with 2 RBI. Chevalier went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI.
